How to Attract Birds to Birdfy Feeder Bamboo

How can I attract birds to my feeder?
 
1. Mix different kinds of seeds/food.
Black oil sunflower seeds: These are the best for attracting songbirds such as cardinals, chickadees, finches, nuthatches, titmice, woodpeckers, etc.
Safflower seeds: These are favored by cardinals, grosbeaks, doves, sparrows, but disliked by squirrels, so they can help deter unwanted visitors from your feeder.
Millet: This is a small white seed that is preferred by ground-feeding birds such as doves, juncos, quail, sparrows, towhees, etc.
Nyjer (thistle) seeds: These are tiny black seeds that are loved by finches such as goldfinches, house finches, pine siskins, redpolls, etc. 
Suet: This is a type of animal fat that is rich in calories and protein for birds. It attracts woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, wrens, etc.
Nuts: Peanuts (shelled or unshelled), almonds, walnuts are enjoyed by jays, magpies, titmice, woodpeckers, etc., but they should be unsalted and roasted (not raw) for safety reasons.
Fruit: Fruit chunks such as oranges, apples, melons, grapes, bananas, etc., are easy to add to platform feeders or hang from strings. They will attract many unusual birds such as orioles, tanagers, waxwings, robins, mockingbirds, etc.
Mealworms: These are dried or live larvae of beetles that provide protein and moisture for insect-eating birds such as bluebirds, robins, wrens, warblers, etc.
 

2. Learn about the common birds in your state and offer them their favorite foods.


3. Place the feeder near your old feeders.

Birds are creatures of habit and may not notice a new feeder right away. To help them find your Birdfy, place it close to your existing feeders where they are already used to feeding. If you need to move your Birdfy Feeder to a different location later, do it gradually by moving it a few feet at a time over several days or weeks. This way, birds can follow the feeder and adjust to its new spot.

4. Position your feeder in a safe and sunny spot.

Birds need to feel secure and comfortable when they visit your feeder. Choose a location that is away from windows, wind chimes, or other sources of noise or danger that could scare them away. Also, avoid placing your feeder too close to trees or bushes where squirrels or cats could hide and ambush them. Ideally, your feeder should be about 10-12 feet away from any cover where birds can quickly escape if needed.

5. Be patient and enjoy watching birds.

It may take some time for birds to discover and trust your new feeder. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see many birds at first. Keep your feeder clean and filled with fresh seeds regularly. Soon enough, you will attract more birds of different species and colors to your backyard. Enjoy watching their behaviors and listening to their songs as they feed from your feeder.
